Having a look on the map, we decided to pass from Seattle and move near Canada border! Our next stop in West Coast Road Trip is small city of Blaine.
Checking on our schedule and remaining time, we decided to just head to Blaine, a border city in Washington State. Before getting there, we had a short stop at amazing Portland to enjoy beautiful downtown of this city and having lunch. Compare to Downtown LA, I found Downtown Portland more appealing to my taste. It is much more neat than DTLA and lots of interesting spots. There is still traffic jam and it is hard to find parking place. But I felt this place to be more alive and more interesting to walk around and find those interesting spots.
We spent the night at Northwood Motel. It`s reasonably priced, operated by a family and free WiFi is also available. Like most of other small cities, most shops and restaurants close very soon, but hopefully we could find a place to stop by and have a drink and something to eat. Next day, we will have a walk around the border and beautiful city of Blaine.
Tip: Have couple of booking apps at hand to enrich your road trip!
My favorite online booking service is booking.com . The filtering system works well and reviews are almost accurate. But that is not the only choice. It is good to check out other services like Hostelworld or CouchSurfing (which is an amazing network!) to find the ideal place to stay, according to budget and situation. For our road trip, we really did not have any special plan on which city to stay. These apps were helpful for us, but on the other hand, we spent two nights sleeping in car!
