“INSPIRED” at Huntington Beach Art Center
Yesterday, I was honored to show 2 new photo prints at Inspired show at Huntington Beach Art Center as a member of this organization. “Inspired” is a celebration of 30th anniversary of Huntington Beach Art Center and their member could show their latest artwork to other members and also public.
Both of the work I printed and hanged on the wall, been taken in Newport Beach during a dense fog. Subjects are not clearly visible, and my intention is to make viewer think what is happening in the dark and how things are going for them.
Couples
This work called ‘Couples’ showing 2 people holding a bucket and walking in the beach with flash lights, in a foggy night. I called it couples, as they are a couple that trying to find their way through unknown and go forward one step at a time. Just like real couple that go through life together and face challenges.
I took this photo using Nikon Zf and 40mm f2.0 lens. It is a hard piece to print, shout out to OC Camera that was able to print it right.
My other work also happens in Newport Beach, during a dense fog happening at night. I took it on Nikon Zf along with legendary Nikkor 135mm f1.8 Plena lens. This lens is one of my favorites and during the time I had it, I really enjoyed taking photos with it.
Nightlife
There is a dense fog again in Newport Beach pier and I could see 3 friends standing by the beach and talking to each other. Lights behind them shows just a shadow of them, and with help of 13mm focal length, I was able to take a good photo of them.
Opening Day
During the opening, I realized the lights on the gallery’s ceiling make a harsh reflection on the glass of frames. I should remember to consider this fact and choose other photos or print type for future exhibitions.
The “Inspired” exhibition will be on display until January 3 2026, in galleries 1,2 and 3.
